There’s nothing like your first child going to school and if you’re a parent and are experiencing both the emotions towards the fact that he or she is growing up, as well as the fact that you have no idea what you're doing, no worries. When it comes to school uniforms for instance, more importantly, which type of fabric you should choose, there are five different ones that can be described as the best of the best and have been used all around the globe for a very long time. In fact, back when you were young, you probably wore these too.

First off, uniforms must be bought in threes. This helps eliminate, not only the need for washing the uniform all the time but also allows for extra lying around, just in case. Manufacturers of school uniforms know that it will have to be washed often and uses synthetic fibres to make all school attire. This allows for it to resist stains, makes it easier to wash and get dry quickly. Some manufacturers even blend’s cotton while making the uniforms, but this is usually upon request.

The Top Materials for making School Uniforms

Polyester

If you look at the label of most clothing, chances are you'll see polyester listed with a blend of fabrics somewhere. It is a very durable fabric and is preferred for school clothes as it is easy to wash and can also be easily died if necessary. Polyester is used in skirts, shirts, as well as school jumpers.

Nylon

Dating back since 1935, nylon is a synthetic type of fibre material. It is both a strong and lightweight material with the only downfall being that it might irritate the skin of children that have allergies. Other than that, it’s a much-preferred fabric when it comes to a uniform.

Dacron

Another material that is much more preferred due to its stain resistance, is Dacron. It is a synthetic fibre which serves best for uniforms when blended with others.

Cotton

As one of the most preferred fabrics that are used when making school uniforms, cotton is a nice, light type of fabric to wear to school. Apart from that, it also needs some attention as it shrinks over time and especially shrinks faster when not washed right. It is also very expensive. In most cases when using cotton, manufacturers of all types of clothes, not only school uniforms, will blend the cotton with other fabrics which will ultimately erase its poor quality.

Wool

As a rare material that is only used in the winter, wool is usually combined with other types of material to make it more wearable. This is also because wool tends to irritate the skin, especially children’s skin. Wool is usually combined with polyester when used in uniform.
