It is without a doubt that we live in a time that is very important when it comes to preserving the earth. Everything we touch has some sort of development behind it or is the process of being developed within the next few years.

This is the case with global warming, a state of the progressive devaluation of our green earth. Don’t get us wrong, there are many that raise their opinion and implement new methods to promote sustainability and the resources of our beautiful planet, but is it enough and are we as a global population making an effort towards sustaining its future?

Environmental Monitoring

When it comes to global warming, the aspect of environmental awareness, along with improved efforts, is now referred to as environmental monitoring.

This phrase is used to describe a range of different processes, investigations and tests. All of these are carried out for scientists and specialists to be able to monitor the environment's state. It also monitors the natural changes, as well as the impact of all human activity.

The Purpose of Environmental Monitoring

This process is specifically designed to assist in understanding the natural environmental assessments, as well as results that allow for us to determine whether projects can be carried out without potentially harming the earth. This can also involve uncovering environmental trends, the quality of it, identifying variations in the earth before making new implementations and to determine whether environmental goals are met.

It is also performed in certain critical environments where the chances of contamination, which could potentially harm the environment around us, is involved. Sometimes those who perform environmental monitoring, referred to as environmental monitoring specialists, perform measurements in the environment before giving the green light to such procedures.

Environmental Monitoring specialists: What do they do?

These specialists play an integral part in keeping the environment safe and I check. They focus on four areas of speciality which includes water, soil, biota and air.

Water Quality Monitoring

This area involves analysing information about the quality of water and making sure all water is safe and sanitary. Tests are performed on all types of water resources such as oceans, lakes, rivers, dams, as well as the animals that live in them to ensure it has the perfect chemical condition which also includes testing levels of oils, nutrients, oxygen, metals and pesticides.

Soil Quality Monitoring

These specialists perform tests on different types of food production that involves farming, as well as carry out tests on forests and jungles all around the world to ensure there is a perfect balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide.

Air Quality Monitoring

Monitoring the quality of air is an important part of these specialist’s jobs as pollution have increased immensely in places such as China and other countries across the world. They carry out a range of tests and establish rules to prevent further pollution and ensure the sustainability of our planet.
